If you are a master of Texas Hold’em Poker, please just ignore the instruction below! If you are new to it, welcome to the novice camp! (I am a novice too and it took me some pains to study the rules. No, I am not suggesting that the game is difficult. It is just a little difficult for me who have never played any card games before. I know the instruction is a little long, ok, really long. But you will learn the rule in no time!) You know there are 52 cards in the deck, right? That’s our beautiful beginning. The first thing you do is to place out blinds and antes to set an initial amount. Each player is dealt two private cards face down. (They are your hole cards or pocket cards.) The next is the preflop betting round. (You call, raise or fold in this round.) After the betting round, the top card is discarded to prevent cheating. What’s next? The flop round! (Hey, there is a preflop!) In the flop round the dealer flips the next three cards. (They are face up on the table.) Players can use the communal cards to combine with their two pocket cards to form a poker hand. After the betting, the dealer burns again and then flips another communal card. (This is called the turn.) Then another round of betting begins, and players can double their bet size. Again, the dealer burns a card and places a final card face up on the table. (It is called river.) You can now use any of the five cards on the table or your two pocket cards to form a five card poker hand. After the final round of betting, we have the showdown! It’s time for all players to reveal their hands and the one with the best hand wins! I hope my lengthy instruction didn’t scare you! In fact this card game is really easy to learn but difficult to master. Your opponent is the computer and there are three levels to choose! (Don’t worry! Though the dealer and your opponent are the same one, I assure you the computer won’t cheat!)
